The Marong & District Community Plan compiled by the Marong Community Action Group was launched on 16 November 2008.

Key goals of the Marong & District Community Plan include:

• Beautification and streetscape works.
• Achieving a sustainable township.
• Investigating possibility of development of an industrial park.
• Develop a village hub consisting of shops, health and wellbeing centre, market/local goods outlet and police presence.
