Awards and recognition

There are a number of different awards to recognise the great work of members of our community. 

There are also numerous state and national awards which recognise people in our community:

  • Australian of the Year Awards profile leading citizens who are role models for us all. They inspire us through their achievements and challenge us to make our own contribution to creating a better Australia.
  • The Bravery Awards from the Royal Humane Society of Australiasia aims to recognise acts of bravery people who risk their own lives to save, or attempt to save, the lives of others.
  • Queens Birthday honours define, encourage and reinforce national aspirations, ideals and standards by identifying role models. These awards recognise, celebrate and  thank those people who make a difference, achieve their best and who serve others.
  • The Regional Achievement & Community Awards for Victoria recognise rural and regional individuals and groups in our community. These awards recognise businesses, community groups and individuals who work tirelessly in developing their chosen field.
  • The Victorian Honour Roll of Women celebrates women who have used their tenacity, vision, outstanding leadership, commitment and just plain hard work to succeed in their chosen field and have a lasting impact on their community.
  • The Telstra Women of the Year recognises, rewards and celebrates the achievements of Australia's most inspirational women.
