Council Plan Update Approved

Under the Local Government Act, the City is required to undertake an annual revision of the Council Plan to ensure it remains current and up to date. Community members from a range of interest groups have contributed actively to the drafting process.

Mayor Cr Alec Sandner said public feedback is important to keep the Plan on track and in the best interests of the community.

“A range of factors and emerging issues have been presented which are continuing to shape the nature of Greater Bendigo.  Access to high-speed broad band internet services, climate change adaptation and risk preparedness as well as supporting cultural diversity and tolerant neighbourhoods, are a few items that are being adjusted,” Cr Sandner said.

“On behalf of Council, I would like to thank all of those people who made submissions and gave suggestions on the draft 2012 Plan.”
