The City of Greater Bendigo is calling for entries from young people for the 2012 RAW Arts Awards which open this Friday February 3.
The City of Greater Bendigo Raw Arts Awards have been running since 1997 to encourage and celebrate the creative talents of young artists living in the Greater Bendigo municipality.
The awards are open to local young artists aged 25 years and under and prizes of $1,000 and $250 are offered in Visual Arts, Literature, Performing Arts and Digital Media categories.
In addition to the prizes, work submitted in the Visual Arts and Digital Media categories will be displayed as part of the RAW Arts Exhibition at Dudley House from May 31 to June 3 2012.
City of Greater Bendigo Mayor, Cr Alec Sandner said young and emerging artists working across various genres are encouraged to enter the Awards.
“The awards are a wonderful way for the City of Greater Bendigo to recognise and celebrate the abundance of young talent that is present in our community,” said Cr Sandner.
Entries close on Monday 21 May 21, 2012 and winners will be announced by the Mayor at the opening of the Raw Arts Awards at Dudley House on Thursday May 31.
