The Getaway Plan returns

Thursday 10 May 2012

After an amazing performance at the recent Groovin the Moo festival  - Aussie band The Getaway Plan will return to Bendigo on  Friday June 1 to perform at a special Mic Up Productions event. The event will be based at the Park Road Hall in the Tom Flood Sports precinct and will run from 7pm to 11pm.

The Getaway Plan will be supported by Melbourne rockers The Redcoats, and Sydney based group Glass Towers.

Mic Up Productions member Jamila Rothacker said Mic Up Productions are excited to bring such an amazing group of artists to Bendigo for community members to enjoy.

“We have been looking to bring some big name artists to Bendigo for some time and we were lucky enough to score all three artists for this gig.

“We hope to complement the line up with the addition of some local artists in the weeks leading up to the event,” said Jamila.

The gig is an all ages FReeZA event which will be fully supervised and drug, alcohol, and smoke free.

Tickets are $20 and will go on sale from May 14 and will be available from the Music Man Mega Store, the City of Greater Bendigo office in Lyttleton Terrace and at the door on the night if not sold out beforehand.

The Getaway Plan started their musical career with a bang with three sold out headline tours, slots at the Big Day Out, Pyramid and Homebaked Festivals and massive radio success for the singles "Where the City Meets the Sea" and "Shadows".

Shortly after appearing in Bendigo The Getaway Plan will make their way to the UK to perform at Sonisphere where the band will play along side the likes of Kiss, Faith No More and Queen.

Support act The Redcoats have been going from strength to strength having played at some of the biggest festivals in the country including Pyramid Rock Festival (2010), Groovin the Moo (2011), Push Over Festival (2012) as well as national tours with top national and international artists including Grinspoon and Stone Temple Pilots.

Glass Towers have been busy since forming in 2008, with a jam packed tour schedule alongside some of the nations biggest acts including Children Collide and Blue Juice.  The band was personally invited to tour with legendary Neil Finn’s latest musical project ‘Pajama Club’ and also earned a spot on the 2009 Splendour in the Grass line up.
