We are currently undertaking numerous projects in the Bendigo region. To find out more about these developments, please click the links below.

Queen / Mitchell St Intersection Upgrade
Works are due to commence in late November to upgrade the Queen/Mitchell Street intersection, to allow Queen Street traffic to cross Mitchell Street.

The upgrade follows a review of Bendigo’s bus services in 2008, which saw a 23% increase in patronage, generating extra pedestrian activity and congestion on Mitchell Street.

Further information is provided in the attached Project Bulletin click here

Arts Precinct Extension Plan
The City of Greater Bendigo has unveiled an exciting phased development plan for the expansion and continued prosperity of Bendigo's View Street Arts Precinct and a vision for how it can be implemented.

The plan contains priorities, timelines, cost estimates for the next stages of the View Street Arts Precinct Masterplan which was first released in 2007.

Chinese Precinct
Chinese Precinct Concept

The final plans have been developed for a bold, new, public open space with the capacity to host outdoor performances, markets and events and attract visitors to the Bendigo Chinese Precinct.

The final plans for “Dai Gum San” (Big Gold Mountain) have just been released and can be viewed by visiting the Chinese Precinct page.

Child Friendly City Sticker Program
Child friendly sticker

We recognise people and organisations that support children and families by providing them with a Child Friendly sticker.

Behind the sticker lies a willingness to welcome, respect and listen to children. This can be done in a number of ways - a restaurant may have a suitable children’s menu, a children’s play area, space for prams and highchairs. Child Friendly places welcome breastfeeding mothers, are smoke free and flexible to accommodate the sometimes unpredictable needs of children. Other ways to support children in our community is to promote and support children’s activities and address environmental issues that affect the safety and wellbeing of children both now and in the future.

Organisations, businesses, venues and service providers can apply online for a Child Friendly sticker here.
