Bendigo is...
  • At the southern gateway to the Murray-Darling basin Australia's food bowl.
  • Centrally located in and able to link directly to the whole of south eastern Australia with over 11 million people within 700 kilometres travel.
  • Only 90 minutes to Melbourne International Airport.
  • Bendigo is the service centre for central and northern Victoria and a large area of southern New South Wales.

This regional servicing role has expanded significantly since the 1970's and has been based on retail and financial services, public administration, tertiary education and higher order health and medical services.

For example, the trade area directly served by Bendigo has a population of 140,000 people and supports over 800 retail establishments in Bendigo.

Available labour pool at competitive rates

Bendigo has an abundance of well-educated people with either service industry or technical training. Over 2000 people work in the IT or communications sectors.

Staff turnover, absenteeism and wages are generally lower than in metro areas. A stable, high quality workforce translates to lower staff churn, higher productivity and customer satisfaction rates and lower call centre costs.
