Welcome to Bendigo Community & Cultural Development (CCD).
CCD focuses on working strategically with individuals and grass-level groups to support and encourage them to become more connected with one another and develop the strength and resilience to take an active part in community life. CCD work collaboratively to ensure best practice community development principles such as inclusiveness, collaboration, capacity building, equity and responsiveness.

Botanic Gardens Sculpture
Community & Cultural Development is dedicated to:
  • Fostering links and mutually advantageous relationships within the arts and the community
  • Research and development of quality arts programs
  • Developing sustainable partnerships with the community
  • Encourage participation by the community
  • Encourage the development of programs and events which are inclusive
  • Employment and involvement of regional artists and arts workers
  • Provide professional assistance, creative development and implementation of special events and festivals within the City of Greater Bendigo

    CCD is committed to developing and presenting a quality program of events, which continue to develop a sense of place, and further enhances Bendigo as the Centre of Victoria in the arts, special community events, festivals and cultural activities.

    The Register lists artists, arts businesses and arts consultants, whether professional or amateur. You can access the Arts Register by clicking here.
     
    Arts - E-Bulletin
    Community & Cultural Development compile and distribute a weekly Arts e-bulletin. The bulletin is a great way to promote forthcoming exhibitions, events, performances and opportunities. If you would like to receive the bulletin and/or add a listing for inclusion please email : arts.info@bendigo.vic.gov.au Coming Soon - new monthly Arts Publication
     
    Bendigo Sister Cities
    On 7th September 1987, the City of Greater Bendigo established their first Sister City link with Los Altos in California, USA. In the following years relationships with Tianshui, China (1992) and Penzance, United Kingdom (1996) emerged. These affiliations have resulted in the establishment of student exchange programs, vocational advise programs and numerous cultural exchanges.
