Guide to residential recycling and waste services

The City has produced a free guide to residential recycling and waste services to assist residents with their home recycling and waste management.

The guide can be obtained from Customer Service Centres in Bendigo and Heathcote or viewed online.

Free greenwaste disposal weekends

The next free greenwaste disposal weekend will be held on April 26 and 27, 2014.

Permanent drumMUSTER compounds are located at the Eaglehawk Eco Centre, Heathcote Landfill and the Goornong Transfer Station for the responsible disposal of empty, clean, eligible farm chemical containers.

Get it Right on Bin Night

The City is supporting Get it Right on Bin Night, an initiative of Sustainability Victoria which aims to increase the amount of recycling by Victorian households.

Household Chemical Collection

Do you need to safely dispose of hazardous household chemicals? The Detox Your Home free chemical collection service enables you to dispose of potentially dangerous household chemicals and other products safely and easily without harming human health or the environment. The products are then recycled for recovery and diversion from landfill.

You can also responsibly dispose of paint, household batteries, automotive and cooking oils, car batteries, gas bottles and fluorescent tubes all year round at the Eaglehawk Eco Centre.

Calder Regional Waste Management Group

The City is a member council in the Calder Regional Waste Management Group which coordinates sustainable use of resources and encourages best practice waste management procedures within the Calder Region.
