Community Engagement Guidelines, Toolkit and Policy

By engaging with our community we are able to make improved decisions based on increased knowledge of community needs, aspirations and strengths.

All of our engagement is guided by our Community Engagement Framework (Guidelines, Toolkit and Policy). It helps residents understand when and how we will consult and when Council needs to make a decision on behalf of the community, and ensures that councillors, council staff and our consultants are engaging with you effectively and appropriately when making decisions or forming policies and plans.

The framework also takes into account the legislative requirements for consultation including notices of application for a planning permit.
