Bendigo Venues and Events to host watch parties

Leave feedback

The Ulumbarra and The Capital Facebook pages will broadcast ‘watch parties’ featuring local artists, commencing as soon as videos are submitted.

The ‘Play at home’ initiative will see Bendigo musicians, comedians, actors and other performing artists to share their talents with Bendigo - and the world.

All artists and performers, amateur or professional, are encouraged to visit for more information and instructions on how to submit a video to be broadcast.

Members of the public wishing to see the performances, playing times and other information should follow Ulumbarra or The Capital on Facebook.

Bendigo Venues & Events Manager David Lloyd said the initiative was a way to lift the spirits of performers and the community.

“We encourage local and regional performers to submit their videos as soon as possible,” Mr Lloyd said.

“‘Play at home’ content will be posted and shared to our digital audience of about 25,000 initially but we expect the content will go far and wide.

“‘Play at home’ is one of several initiatives Bendigo Venues & Events has introduced to support artists and our community at this challenging time.  We consider arts an essential component of healthy living and I am so pleased we can help our community experience great local arts and entertainment on a digital platform, in their homes during this period of isolation.”
