Book online for free Summer in the Parks 'Spring Edition' activities and events
Summer in the Parks has landed a season early this year with a one-off Spring Edition with family fun activities and events taking place in Bendigo’s beautiful parks and gardens.
The Summer in the Parks – Spring Edition program sponsored by Fosterville Gold Mine will feature free events and activities throughout September and October including Active Kids, Tulip Tunes and Movies in the Park.
City of Greater Bendigo Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said the Spring Edition was planned to give the community, particularly families, the chance to have some fun and relax in beautiful surroundings in a COVID-safe way.
“Summer in the Parks – Spring Edition is the perfect excuse to have some fun and enjoy our great outdoors when the tulips are blooming and the city looks so lovely this time of year,” Mr Karamaloudis said.
“We have put together a COVID-safe program that includes music in our beautiful parks and gardens, a new virtual Tulip Hunt using a mobile phone app and outdoor cinema events at Garden for the Future.
“We’ve also planned an Active Kids program featuring Connect Circus, sporting activities and roving characters during the school holidays so there’s plenty of ways to entertain children.
“It’s also an opportunity to support our local businesses, enjoy a lunch or grab a takeaway for a picnic in the park.
“To keep everyone safe, people will need to book these free events to comply with health requirements and we do expect spaces to be filled quickly so don’t miss out.
“Residents are advised to keep an eye on our Bendigo Tourism website for the latest updates as events may be subject to change due to inclement weather or changes to restrictions.”
The traditional Summer in the Parks program will return in December to host events during the warmer months (subject to COVID-19 health requirements).
