Ewing Park - Your Park, Your Say!
The City of Greater Bendigo is encouraging residents to have their say on the Ewing Park Wheeled Sports Hub.
Two pre-design Community Workshops will take place on Monday May 27 at 4pm to 6pm and 6pm to 7.30pm at Yo Bendigo, 45 Mundy Street Bendigo. In addition two listening posts will be held at Ewing Park at 4.30pm to 5.30pm Thursday May 30 and 11am to 1pm on Saturday June 1.
City of Greater Bendigo Healthy and Active Lifestyles Manager Lincoln Fitzgerald said in August 2018, the City developed a draft Master Plan for Ewing Park that featured a long term vision to increase participation in sport and active recreation and reflect the needs of a growing and diverse population.
“The community consultation we carried out for the draft plan showed strong support for many elements in the plan and in response the City completed a detailed design for Stage 1 which included a new junior oval, lighting and athletics track,” Mr Fitzgerald said.
“A design process has now commenced for stage two which includes a district level skate and scooter park, learn to ride park, outdoor fitness equipment and a regional cycling trail hub.
“These facilities will be integrated to create a wheeled sports hub to suit all non-motorised equipment such as scooters, skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates and all forms of cycling.
“Feedback from local residents and the general community is important and we would love to see everyone with an interest in this project attend either a pre-design community workshop or come along to one of the listening posts.”
