Investment in recreation facilities and playspaces for active lives

The City of Greater Bendigo’s adopted 2023/2024 Budget continues to deliver active and healthy opportunities for the community with multi-year investments for sports and recreation facilities.

Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf said recreational and outdoor facilities provided important social hubs for sporting clubs and local communities to connect and enjoy a range of sports and activities.

"Sport and leisure are a massive part of community life in Greater Bendigo, and we need to support growing participation by ensuring our facilities are kept to a high standard,” Cr Metcalf said.

“We do this very well by investing in recreational facilities that will benefit growing communities for many years to come.

“Playspaces are also important to local families, and we are fortunate to have a large number and variety across our neighbourhoods.
