New exhibition explores creative printmaking
The artworks of three leading central Victorian printmakers are celebrated in a new exhibition, Layers and Light, at the Living Arts Space located in the Bendigo Visitor Centre.
The free exhibition explores the work of central Victorian printmakers Sam Trafford, Chrisanne Blennerhassett and Diana Orinda Burns.
City of Greater Bendigo Visitor Services Manager Jemma Docherty said the local printmakers created imagery using innovative printing techniques to create wonderful and vibrant works.
“Each of the three printmakers have applied different processes to create beautiful prints that evoke unique and sometimes familiar locations, stories or different atmospheres,” Ms Docherty said.
“The printmakers explore imagery through layering, light, line and texture with striking simplicity to create three-dimensional qualities that are characteristic of the printmaking process.
“Residents are also invited to the Layers and Light official exhibition opening at the Living Arts Space on Sunday May 22 from 2pm to 4pm. You can meet the exhibitors and browse a range of products related to the exhibition theme.”
Layers and Light is on until Sunday July 10. You can also browse exhibition products at: https://www.uniquelybendigo.com.au/collections/
The Living Arts Space is open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm (except Christmas Day).
