A new magical-themed exhibition, Flights of Fantasy exhibition opens at the Living Arts Space
Flights of Fantasy combines photography, fashion design and jewellery to create a whimsical wonderland, has opened at the Living Arts Space at the Bendigo Visitor Centre.
Flights of Fantasy presents photo montage images from artist and illustrator Lorena Carrington, individual designed art jewellery pieces from Milton Long and the latest collection from fashion, set and costume designer Ulrike Barbara Von Radichevich.
Lorena Carrington is a photographic illustrator and artist. Her books include Vasilisa the Wise and Other Tales of Brave Young Women, The Buried Moon and Other Tales of Bright Young Women, Wiser than Evening, and Sightings. Her book Vasilisa the Wise received a silver medal in the Readers’ Favourite Book Awards.
Ms Carrington exhibits at commercial and public art galleries, contributes creative work to arts and literary festivals, and her work is held in Australian and international collections.
Milton Long is a contemporary studio jeweller. Mr Long’s work reflects a particular interest in design, including the visual arts, the Art Deco period, industrial design and architecture. Individual pieces reflect his belief in the importance of simplicity of design, wearability, durability and a highly professional finish.
Ms Von Radichevich is a well-established artist who travels frequently between her new country of residence Australia, and Europe, where she continues her professional work as a set and costume designer engaged by European theatre companies. Her graphic work has been shown in many exhibitions.
The Living Arts Space presents a range of exhibitions and public art programs throughout the year showcasing Bendigo and the region’s talented, emerging and professional artists.
The free exhibition runs until August 31, 2019. The Living Arts Space is open 9am-5pm daily at the Bendigo Visitor Centre, 51-67 Pall Mall Bendigo.
