Seniors Festival program available now!
The program for the 2022 Greater Bendigo Seniors Festival which runs from October 2 to 9 is now available at local libraries, neighbourhood houses and the Bendigo Visitor Information Centre.
City of Greater Bendigo Healthy Communities and Environments Director Stacy Williams said this year’s program is packed full of great events with something for everyone.
“Following two years of mainly online events due to COVID-19 we are excited to bring back events for people to attend and enjoy in person,” Ms Williams said.
“This year’s festival theme is “Takin it Easy” and we encourage older adults to feel relaxed and comfortable while out and about enjoying the variety of events and activities on offer during the festival.
“With many events either free or low cost it’s a great time to venture out and try something new.”
Highlights of the program include Tania Kernaghan in concert at the Capital Theatre on Thursday October 6. This event is presented by the City of Greater Bendigo and Victorian Government and will also include a Welcome to Country by the Traditional Owners of Dja Dja Wurrung Country followed by a didgeridoo performance.
Other events include tours, ways to get active, come and try days, multicultural events, cooking demonstrations, art competitions, afternoon teas, old time dancing and much more.
Regional bus services and V/Line bus and train services will offer free public transport for Victorian Seniors Card holders from Sunday October 2 to Sunday October 9.
