The City of Greater Bendigo in partnership with Arthouse Direct, Bendigo is inviting artists to capture scenes from the 2017 Hazeldene’s Bendigo Easter Festival as part of the Easter Paint Out project.

City of Greater Bendigo Arts and Culture Coordinator Maree Tonkin said through the Easter Paint Out selected artists will be provided with a canvas and a $75 Arthouse voucher to purchase art supplies before they head out and about, painting in the Easter Festival precinct on Friday and Saturday.

“On Easter Sunday, members of the public will have an opportunity to view the completed works at the Bendigo Visitor Centre and vote for the one they like most,” Ms Tonkin said.

“A $250 People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Arthouse Direct will be awarded to the artists with the most votes.

“All of the finished works will be available to view for one week from Easter Sunday in the Bendigo Visitor Centre.

“Arts and culture enhances our community wellbeing and the Easter Paint Out is part of the City of Greater Bendigo’s ongoing commitment to support local artists and cultural events.”

Artists interested in participating in the Easter Paint Out can register their interest at www.bendigoeasterfestival.org.au  by completing the online form by Monday March 27.
