Bendigo Easter Festival Reference Group calls for ideas for 150th festival
The Bendigo Easter Festival Reference Group is calling for ideas for the 150th Bendigo Easter Festival to be held in 2020.
Reference Group Chair Cr Rod Fyffe said the group was aware there were many in the community who had ideas for activities that they would like to see included.
“The 150th festival is a great opportunity to look at new or historic activities or events to be considered as part of the festival,” Cr Fyffe said.
“We know that there are many people with creative ideas that we would like to consider, to ensure we are planning a celebration our whole community can be proud of.
“We encourage people to submit their ideas for consideration, as we are confident it is going to be a very special celebration of our great festival.”
Bendigo Easter Fair Society President Simon Mulqueen said now was the time to send in ideas for the festival.
“Planning for the 2020 festival has already begun, so we want people to send through their ideas for us to consider,” Mr Mulqueen said.
“Most of the normal events and activities will remain but there will be an extra day of festivities, so there is an opportunity to explore some exciting options.
“Ideas need to be within the festival’s budget, work with existing events, activities and precincts and be something the majority of the community can enjoy.
“We look forward to seeing some of the great ideas our community has.”
Ideas can be submitted online at www.bendigoeasterfestival.org.au and must be received by October 12, 2018.
