Bendigo TAFE becomes new Easter Festival naming sponsor
The City of Greater Bendigo has announced Bendigo TAFE as the new naming rights sponsor of the Bendigo Easter Festival for 2018 and 2019.
Bendigo TAFE became a gold sponsor for the 2017 festival.
Chairman of the Bendigo Easter Festival Cr Rod Fyffe said he was very pleased the City would be partnering with Bendigo TAFE.
“The Bendigo Easter Festival is one of Greater Bendigo’s most iconic and popular events, attracting thousands of locals and visitors every year,” Cr Fyffe said.
“Since its beginning as the Bendigo School of Mines in 1873, graduates of Bendigo TAFE have served this city and region with great distinction.
“The City of Greater Bendigo recognises the important role Bendigo TAFE plays in our community.
“We thank Bendigo TAFE for their generous support, which will allow us to continue to run the festival to the high standard the community expects.
“The Bendigo Easter Festival is Australia's longest ongoing community festival and will celebrate its 148th birthday in 2018.
“Next year’s festival is also likely to be Sun Loong’s final solo appearance at the festival and in 2019 we hope to be able to feature Dai Gum Loong, the new Chinese dragon at the festival.
“The support of our many sponsors ensures the Bendigo Easter Festival can continue to be a success.”
Bendigo TAFE CEO Trevor Schwenke said he was equally excited about this new partnership.
“This is a fantastic example of an opportunity to give back to the community that gives so much to us,” Mr Schwenke said
“We are delighted to be a part of such an iconic event for the Bendigo region.”
