Leave feedback

The 2018/2019 Budget will fund key projects in rural areas of Greater Bendigo.

The Budget includes funding for:

  • A new pedestrian bridge across McIvor Creek adjacent to Chauncey Street, Heathcote
  • Oval lighting for the Elmore recreation reserve
  • Heathcote pool shade and solar installation and other maintenance works
  • Construction of main drainage system for west Marong

Mayor Cr Margaret O’Rourke said rural communities would benefit from this year’s budget.

“The new pedestrian bridge will provide an important connection for pedestrians in Heathcote,” Cr O’Rourke said.

“And the Heathcote pool will benefit from a new shade structure and additional solar panels to heat the pool.

“In Elmore, the lighting at the recreation reserve will allow the club to train at night and host competition night matches.

“Marong's residential growth requires us to keep up with appropriate supporting drainage infrastructure. The new stormwater drainage line will improve access to and from Marong in storm events and ensure residential development is able to continue.”
