Circus Oz visits Greater Bendigo schools
Circus Oz will share their skills with Greater Bendigo students this week, ahead of their performances at Ulumbarra Theatre in April.
The circus will visit three primary schools: Lockwood South Primary School, Heathcote Primary School and Specimen Hill Primary School
Capital Venues and Events Manager David Lloyd said it was fantastic the performers would be visiting local schools as part of their visit.
“Circus Oz have a strong track record of working within the communities that they perform in and we always try to organise as much community engagement and participation with our visiting performers as possible, so this is a great example of that,” Mr Lloyd said.
“This is a way for some of our young people to get a taste for circus performance, learn new skills and maybe even discover a new passion.
“Their performance, Model Citizens, is set to be a great show for young and old to enjoy.
“It’s another of our many fantastic performances we are bringing to the Greater Bendigo community as part of Season 2018.”
Celebrating its 40th year, Circus Oz explodes back on stage, audaciously unpacking the myths of modern Australia in their latest high octane circus show Model Citizens, the first creation for the company by Artistic Director Rob Tannion.
Circus Oz performs Model Citizens on April 6 and 7 at Ulumbarra Theatre.
Exposing circus skills in unconventional ways, Model Citizens presents stunning group acrobatics with a twist. Model Citizens is a visually and emotionally charged journey by the multi-talented Circus Oz ensemble, which explores what it really means to be a model citizen in today’s ‘model kit’ society.
