City of Greater Bendigo's Capital Venues and Events unit wins national award
The City of Greater Bendigo’s Capital Venues and Events unit has taken out the Drover Award for the Performing Arts Centre of the Year, announced last night at an award ceremony in Karratha in Western Australia.
Performing Arts Connections Australia’s Drover Awards recognise excellence in performing arts touring, with the Capital Venues and Events unit taking out the win in its category from a field of nominees that included the Geelong Performing Arts Centre, Queen’s Park Theatre (Geraldton) and the Orange Civic Theatre.
Director Strategy and Growth Bernie O’Sullivan said the unit was thrilled to have won the award.
“Our team strives to provide the best possible performing arts experience for touring companies, performers and our audience,” Mr O’Sullivan said.
“Each year our dedicated and professional team attracts and manages a varied and high quality season of performances for our community.
“To receive this award and national recognition from industry peers is hugely encouraging.
“Congratulations to our talented and passionate staff who make it possible for Greater Bendigo residents to enjoy such a great selection of quality drama, comedy, dance, music, community performances and other special events throughout the year.”
