Everyone's welcome to enjoy an afternoon art affair
The artists currently showing work as part of the Stellar Visions exhibition in Bendigo’s Living Arts Space, will talk about their artistic journeys at 2pm this Saturday September 26 at the Bendigo Visitor Centre and everyone is welcome to attend.
Stellar Visions is an exhibition that combines spring inspired fashion apparel with captivating conceptual artwork. The exhibition merges the large scale painting of visual artist Julie Andrews with the vibrant collection of pastel coloured creations by costume designer Ulrike von Radichevich.
Julie Andrews and Ulrike von Radichevich have both worked and exhibited nationally and internationally and are recognised for their exceptional talents and skills in their respective creative fields and this is a great opportunity to hear from the artists themselves.
Julie’s evocative large-scale paintings draw you to the threshold of another world through the clever use of blended colours and shapes. Julie has been involved in many arts projects and initiatives, and has recently completed a number of public art murals around Bendigo, commissioned by the City of Greater Bendigo. She also currently has a major solo exhibition showing at Montsalvat in Melbourne.
Ulrike has created striking designer garments, headwear and jewellery pieces for this exhibition which demonstrate her unique approach to fashion as an art form. Having worked as a theatre set and costume designer in Europe before moving to Australia, the influence of theatrical costume and sense of self-expression and individuality shines through in Ulrike’s enchanting and whimsical designs.
Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome to join this relaxed and informative afternoon of interesting artistic exchange. If you would like to attend or would like further information please phone Lauretta Zilles 5434 6060 or email [email protected] to register your interest.
