Ewing Park draft masterplan available for public comment
The City of Greater Bendigo is inviting residents to inspect and make comment on a draft master plan which expands the range of recreation facilities and activities at Ewing Park and is holding a listening post to discuss the plan from 6pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday August 29 at the Ewing Park Pavilion.
City of Greater Bendigo Healthy and Active Lifestyles Manager Lincoln Fitzgerald said the draft plan includes the development of a new skate park and learn to ride park.
“The draft plan also features the development of a new junior football/cricket oval with training lighting, complete with a single lane running track enclosed by a picket fence that could also be used to host other community events.
“Other features of the draft master plan include outdoor gym stations, formalised car parking along Harcourt Street and Havlin Street West and the closure of Havlin Street West between Harcourt Street and Carnegie Way to improve safety for reserve users.
“There is also a new link to the Back Creek shared trail network from Williamson Street to a new trail hub that will feature a shelter and information on Bendigo’s shared trail network along with a new public toilet.
“The existing play space off Brougham Street would be incorporated into the ride and skate area and additional trees will be planted throughout the park.
“The draft master plan sets out to create a park where not only can people play and be active but also a place where they can rest and relax as well.”
Any submissions about the draft master plan must be sent to the City of Greater Bendigo by Friday August 31, 2018.
