Heathcote Visitor Centre volunteers celebrated

The Heathcote Visitor Centre will recognise the contribution of its 18 volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week on Monday May 21.

Volunteers at Heathcote Visitor Centre contribute more than 6,000 hours of service a year.

City of Greater Bendigo Tourism and Major Events Manager Terry Karamaloudis said volunteers were critical to Greater Bendigo’s high quality visitor services.

“Our skilled and passionate volunteers provide information to visitors and sell souvenirs, local produce and tickets to local theatre productions and events. The centre is also the local agent for V/Line ticket sales, providing a valuable service to the local community and visitors,” Mr Karamaloudis said.

“The centre welcomes 20,000 visitors through the doors annually and is open from 9am to 5pm every day except Christmas Day.

“Volunteer support is vital to ensure we offer the best possible service to visitors and support our tourism members and local businesses.”

Heathcote Visitor Centre welcomes enquiries from anyone interested in volunteering.  Please contact Janet Wicks, Coordinator Heathcote Visitor Centre on 5433 3121.
