Works to improve the entry and exit to Lake Weeroona’s main car park off Napier Street will take place next week.

City of Greater Bendigo Public Space Design Coordinator Aaron Lindsay said the car park will remain accessible throughout the works however only half the car park will be available for use by the public next week.

“The public toilets, playground and barbecue shelter will remain open during the works and the Lake’s food vendors will continue to trade,” Mr Lindsay said.

“The works are part of the Lake Weeroona Master Plan and will include the construction of a new separate car park entrance to improve the safety and useability of the car park when entering and exiting.

“Stage one to create the new entry will commence on Monday June 18 and should take approximately one week to complete while the stage two works to create the new exit will be undertaken in Spring.

“In the interim to the stage two works taking place the existing car park entry/exit will be converted into an exit only.

“New line marking to improve turning lanes on Napier Street will also be undertaken during the week.”
