Debbie Wood is the City of Greater Bendigo’s new Presentation and Assets Director.

Ms Wood has acted in the role since December last year and was formerly the City’s Manager Parks and Open Space.

She will oversee the management of the Engineering, Parks and Open Space, Project Management Office, Property Services, Resource Recovery and Education, and Works units.

Ms Wood said she was excited to continue to work with the Greater Bendigo community.

“This is an exciting opportunity and I am thrilled to have been officially appointed to the director role,” she said.

“The Presentation and Assets directorate delivers great outcomes for the community and I look forward to supporting the staff to continue their important work in enhancing the liveability of Greater Bendigo.”

Chief Executive Officer Craig Niemann said Ms Wood would commence in the role immediately.

“Debbie is passionate about the organisation, has a great ability to support staff, and continually looks for ways to develop her skills and knowledge,” Mr Niemann said.

“Her work ethic and character have shone through in the lead up to this appointment and I look forward to working with her.”

Ms Wood’s career in the Local Government sector has spanned more than 20 years.

She joined the City in 2016, moving to Bendigo from Tasmania where she had worked at the City of Hobart as the Parks and Recreation Manager. Prior to this, she worked at the City of Casey as a Landscape Architect.
