Raw Arts Awards winners announced
The talent of local young artists has been recognised and is being celebrated through the City of Greater Bendigo’s 2017 Raw Arts Awards and Exhibition on display at Dudley House until Sunday May 21.
The Greater Bendigo Raw Arts Awards are an important initiative designed to showcase and foster the talents and artistic pursuits of young people in the region and this year’s awards attracted 89 entries from local young people aged from 9 to 25 years of age.
The awards and exhibition provide an opportunity for young people to profile their work, receive public and financial recognition and support further studies in their chosen arts field.
Through the awards the City of Greater Bendigo provides four $1000 cash scholarships and four $250 highly commended prizes across four arts disciplines – visual arts, literature, digital media and performing arts.

The City of Greater Bendigo introduced the awards in 1997 to support young people and provide opportunities for a diverse and vibrant local arts and cultural program.
The 2017 Raw Arts Exhibition featuring this year’s visual arts entries is open to the public between 11am and 3pm until Sunday May 21 at Dudley House and is free to attend. A selection of the entries will also be featured in a display called More RAW in The Capital foyer from Monday May 22 until the end of June.
