The CEO of Retail Doctor Group, one of Australia’s leading retail consulting companies, Brian Walker, will visit Bendigo this week to speak about the future of retail to local traders.

Brian Walker will speak at a free event at La Trobe Art Institute on Tuesday February 6, from 6pm – 7.30pm.

Last year Mr Walker visited Bendigo to understand the businesses currently operating to identify gaps and provide advice to support the retail sector.

Regional Sustainable Development Manager Trevor Budge said the event would be valuable to traders throughout Greater Bendigo.

“Mr Walker has lots of valuable insights about how retail is changing and how businesses can ensure they are adapting to and making the most out the current and future retail environment,” Mr Budge said.

“We need to think about what our residents would like to see more of and also how retail can complement our strong tourism industry.

“Improving our CBD will require a team effort. That includes the City, current and future business owners, and landlords working together to meet gaps in the market, keep rents affordable and ensure our streets are clean, presentable and vibrant.

“Ensuring we have a strong retail sector with the right mix of businesses, which are complementary to each other and Greater Bendigo’s strengths, is critical to the vibrancy and sustainability of our city centre.”

Entry is free, but RSVPs are required. To RSVP, please email [email protected] or call 5434 6000.
