Visitor Centre calls for artists to create internal mural

Leave feedback

The City of Greater Bendigo is seeking expressions of interest from artists to design a mural on an internal wall of the Bendigo Visitor Centre.

The commissioned work will be displayed for approximately two years and will be used to market and promote the centre.

The successful artist will receive $2,500 and will be profiled on the Bendigo Tourism website.

Visitor Services Manager Nicole Pretty said the artwork could be any design, but should complement the space.

“We have over 100,000 people come through our Visitor Centre every year, so it’s a great opportunity to have your work seen by a large number of people,” Ms Pretty said.

“Bendigo is a creative city, and the visitor centre is often the first stop on a visitor’s arrival to Bendigo, so it will be a good introduction to what we have to offer.”

“We are open to ideas and look forward to receiving some great submissions for consideration.”

To apply, artists need to submit their CV, example of previous artworks and a design concept and rationale.

Expressions of interest close on January 30, 2018.

Submissions can be lodged with Visitor Services Manager Nicole Pretty in person at the

Bendigo Visitor Centre on Pall Mall, via email ([email protected]) or by post to Bendigo Visitor Centre, PO Box 697, Bendigo, 3552.

For details on how to make a submission, go to www.bendigotourism.com/about-bendigo/bendigo-visitor-centre.
