Yo Arts Exhibition Launch
The works of nine young artists aged between 15 and 25 years will be showcased at the 2018 Yo Arts Exhibition launch at Yo Bendigo, 45 Mundy Street Bendigo.
The City of Greater Bendigo’s annual Yo Arts – Young Artists project is designed to encourage and support emerging local talent.
Through the initiative young Greater Bendigo artists have gained an opportunity to hone their skills, learn from professional artists and exhibit their work publicly.
The City’s Inclusive Communities Coordinator David Williamson said Yo Arts is an exciting opportunity for young artists to explore Bendigo’s art galleries, meet with artists and participate in hands on workshops by professional artists.
“The participants were all provided with mentoring and will exhibit a piece of artwork that they have created as part of the Yo Arts initiative,” Mr Williamson said.
“It’s been an exciting opportunity for young artists and now they get to exhibit their work and receive public recognition for their skills and creativity.”
“This is the fifth time the City has undertaken this initiative and I congratulate all of the participants for their commitment to the project, for following their creative vision and for producing such excellent art works.”
YO Arts is in line with the City’s Youth Strategy goals to provide innovative opportunities for young people to develop new skills by conducting creative arts workshops and life skills training.
