Curator - First Nations Culture and Engagement
Bendigo Art Gallery is seeking a Curator of First Nations Culture and Engagement to join our team. This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity for an early career curator or cultural worker who would like to gain valuable gallery and museum experience.
The curator will receive mentoring and support to develop a First Nations Program including public programs and an exhibition. The curator will also work closely with the Dja Dja Wurrung people on the protection and presentation of cultural objects. This is a fixed term full-time 12 month contract with the possibility of renewal under a longer term strategy. Working hours can be negotiated under the terms of this contract.
The ideal candidate will have sound knowledge of Aboriginal cultural heritage management relevant to south-eastern Australia including current legislation and demonstrated experience developing cultural programs and exhibitions.
