Early Parenting Worker

We are expanding our Enhanced Maternal Child Health (EMCH) Services as part of the Early Childhood Reform Plan to deliver systemic change, targeted at supporting the children who need it most.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Early Parenting Worker/s to join our Community Wellbeing unit to provide a holistic outreach support service to at risk families as per the EMCH Guidelines. The service aims to improve parenting skills, confidence and improve outcomes for children for families experiencing vulnerability due to various factors including: trauma and attachment, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, family violence and families experiencing difficulty engaging with the universal MCH service.

The successful applicant must have relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Children’s Services, Early Childhood Development/Education or other relevant field and demonstrated experience in working with children and families as per the EMCH guidelines.  If you have expert knowledge in the areas mentioned above your skill set would be highly valued in the team.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively engage and build relationships based on trust with vulnerable families are required for this position.

A current Police Check, Working with Children Check, pre-employment medical and current Victorian driver's license is essential for this position.
