In this newly created position, you will undertake high level financial analysis and support of the Resource Recovery & Education Unit (RR&E) budgets and forecasts with detailed modelling of current and potential future services. RR&E provide a range of Waste services, including management of the Eaglehawk Landfill; Recycling; and Organics programs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support improved environmental and service outcomes within an essential community service (Waste / RR&E).

You will undertake a range of projects, drive business case development, and support cost modelling for service contracts. This will include supporting proposed changes to services and require benchmarking of financial and environmental costs against other Council’s waste services to ensure value for money across RR&E services.

You will hold a tertiary qualification in accounting with Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) preferred, have experience in an accounting or business management role within a complex organisation, have demonstrated skills in business analysis with the ability to make recommendations, prepare reports and build strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to identify priorities and manage workloads are essential for this role.

A satisfactory police check is required for commencement of this position.
