Ulumbarra Theatre
Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre rises from within the walls of the City’s 1860’s Sandhurst Gaol. Meaning ‘gather together’ or ‘meeting place’ in the language of the local indigenous people, Ulumbarra blends heritage and modern elements beautifully offering distinctive state-of-the-art performance and event spaces.
With an auditorium capacity of 950 there are first class backstage facilities, ticketing and technical staff break out options are available and include expansive foyers, adjoining studios and modern meeting rooms. Catering is also available.

The Capital
Located in historic View Street, The Capital was originally built as the Sandhurst Masonic Hall in 1873 and boast one of the finest entries of any arts centre in the nationa with towering Corinthian columns and an interior that has been restored to its original grandeur.
The 480 seat capacity of Capital Theatre sits above two elegant heritage chambers – The Capital’s Banquet Room and Bendigo Bank Theatre. The Capital offers a full range of services including ticketing, technical and catering support.

The Engine Room
This historic, quirky venue seats 90 people in a retractable seating bank or can be used as a blank canvas to create whatever your performance or event requires. Located in View Street adjacent to the main building of The Capital, the historic old fire station has two flexible spaces. On the ground floor, a black box performance space with full sound and lighting facilities, and upstairs an attractive studio with timber floor and mirrors.
