COVID-19 Special Sale Conditions

**UPDATED ON 12/6/2020**

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL ONLY (Vendors permitted for deliveries only)

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Bendigo Livestock Exchange is currently restricted to essential personnel only. The purchase of stock is limited to registered Buyers representing a Processor PIC (abattoir). Genuine store buyers may now attend the sale to purchase stock directly, though all buyers must register preferably by emailing [email protected] or contacting 03 5448 8111 during business hours.

Vendors and spectators are still not permitted to attend untill further notice.

This decision has been taken to limit the personnel on-site. The Bendigo Livestock Exchange is continuing to operate through this risk as a critical link in the food supply chain. It is imperative that all stakeholders work together to maintain operations.

It is a site requirement that all visitors to the saleyard must strictly register their attendance on the day by texting their name and occupation to the advertised number displayed around the saleyard. This will provide us with an attendance register in the event that we need to send notifications at a later date, this applies to transporters, staff, deliveries, drovers, agents etc. We have gone to a digital register in order to reduce the need to sign-in at a centralised location, spot checks will be conducted by BLE staff to monitor compliance. Again, compliance with this register is in your best interest to receive notification of any potential virus interaction. The information will be discarded after a safe period and will not be used for any other purposes than to supply emergency contact information.

Any non-esssential buyers/vendors/spectators whom attend the saleyard will be deemed to be not behaving in the best interests of the Exchange and will be asked to leave the saleyard in accordance with Local Law 9.24, by the Saleyard Manager or their delegate. Failure to comply wilfully may result in a five (5) penalty unit offence.

It is also a clear direction of the Bendigo Livestock Exchange that any persons whom are unwell are not permitted to enter the facility at any time.
