Planning Scheme Amendment C266 – Public Open Space Contributions

The City of Greater Bendigo has prepared planning scheme amendment C266gben (the Amendment) to the Greater Bendigo Planning Scheme. The Amendment applies to all residential land in the City of Greater Bendigo and proposes to:

  • Amend the Schedule to Clause 53.01 (Public Open Space Contribution and Subdivision) of the Greater Bendigo Planning Scheme and introduce a requirement for residential subdivisions to provide public open space contributions. The Amendment seeks to require a 2 per cent contribution rate for residential subdivisions in Bendigo and 5 per cent for all other residential subdivisions.
  • Amend the Schedule to Clause 72.08 (Background Documents) to insert a new background document titled “Public Open Space Contributions Background Report to Amendment C266gben (City of Greater Bendigo, May 2022).”

The Amendment was placed on public exhibition from Monday 6 June to Friday 15 July, 2022, with a total of five submissions received. All submissions were resolved and therefore a panel hearing was not required.

Council resolved to adopt the Amendment at its meeting on 26 September, 2022.

Next step

The adopted Amendment is now waiting final approval by the Minister for Planning.
