Greater Bendigo offers a full range of higher education opportunities, private and public secondary schools and a large number of primary, pre-school and child care facilities.
The education and training sector is one of Greater Bendigo's three largest industries, employing above the Victorian average in 2015/2016.
Notable educational and training facilities
Training is delivered online and onsite to over 9,000 students every year. They offer apprenticeships, traineeships, the Victorian Certificate of Education, Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning, short courses and vocational educational training.
Bendigo Senior Secondary College (BSSC)
BSSC is the largest provider of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and Vocational Educational Training in School (VETiS) in the state.
Bendigo Special Development School
The Bendigo Special Development School provides education to school aged students with moderate to severe intellectual disability. The school tailors educational programs to meet the needs of individual students.
Bendigo Technical Education College (BTEC)
BTEC provides young people with an opportunity to undertake a school based apprenticeship or traineeship whilst completing their VCE or VCAL. The college is assisting to fill the skill shortage in traditional trades.
Girton Grammar School
