Immunisation sessions venue change
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and until further notice, the City of Greater Bendigo will undertake all public immunisation sessions from:
Strathdale Community Centre
155 Crook Street, Strathdale
Strathdale Community Centre - 155 Crook Street, Strathdale (adjacent the Crook Street Playground car park) - View Strathdale Community Centre on a map
Strathdale Community Centre has been chosen as the only immunisation venue because it is a large venue that supports good social distancing measures, has accessible car parking and by having only one designated venue the City is better able to follow the necessary hygienic practices required.
The City understands parents may be reluctant to bring their children to an immunisation session but it is an essential service and additional precautions have been introduced to ensure everyone’s safety is protected. Staff are screening all clients on arrival and practicing social distancing where possible within the clinic setting.
To help limit numbers inside the clinic, the City requests only one parent/carer attend with their child and that they bring your own pen.
Immunisation is a free service provided by the City of Greater Bendigo to protect the health and wellbeing of the general population. Immunisation is a simple and effective way of protecting the community from serious diseases.
We immunise in accordance with the National Immunisation Program. To find out about what vaccine is given at what age to children, school children and at-risk groups, go to the Australian Government Department of Health: National Immunisation Program Schedule.
The following session times will take place until further notice:
Mondays - 10am – 11.30am - No sessions on August 3 and August 10, 2020
Tuesdays - 2.30pm – 6.30pm
Thursdays - 11am – 12.30pm and 4.30pm – 6pm
Fridays - 9.30am – 11.30am
PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE PRIOR TO ATTENDING. Given the current restrictions, please be patient as there may be a delay depending on space and staff levels.

Immunisation is an essential service. If you are unable to attend any of our sessions or visit your local GP, please contact us on [email protected] or 0428 149 077.
Due to the ongoing requirements to maintain social distancing and enhanced hygiene requirements associated with COVID -19, the City of Greater Bendigo Immunisation service has decided not to attend the schools to administer the routine vaccinations at this time;
- Year 10 Immunisation of Meningococcal ACWY
- Year 7 Immunisation of Human papillomavirus (HPV) and Diphtheria-tetanus-whooping cough (dTpa)
However, we are offering these scheduled vaccines at all of our extended Public immunisation sessions held at Strathdale Community Centre, so no students need to miss out on their routine vaccines.
- No booking required
- Only one parent/carer attend the session, you will be screened prior to entry
- Bring own pen to complete the school consent card
- Your child must be accompanied by an adult who is over 18 years old. If a parent/carer is unable to attend with the student we are able to obtain verbal consent if you are available via telephone
- Must wait 15 minutes after vaccination
We will be in regular contact with the schools to update them on attendance. Alternately, you can also visit your GP.
Students under 20 years old who have missed out on previous school vaccines are eligible to receive these vaccines too.
We have a supply of flu vaccine for pregnant women, children aged six months to under five years and a limited number for people aged over 65 years or who meet the National Immunisation Program criteria. If you have a chronic medical condition we would prefer that you see your GP as we do not have access to your medical records.
