The role of the Committee is to provide general advice to the City and advocate and undertake initiatives that support greater social inclusion of people with a disability.

The Committee will act as a central point for City staff and Councillors when advice is sought on matters relating to the needs and requirements of people with a disability.  The Committee will also assist the City to consider disability when developing policies and strategies and undertaking special projects.

Members will be appointed for a 2 year term.

Committee meetings will be held every two months.

Some preparation and reading will be required prior to meetings.

At times Committee members may be required to visit sites throughout Greater Bendigo to provide consultation and advice on City projects or major developments.

Applicants must be prepared to attend an interview as part of the selection process and, if successful, complete an induction session prior to the first meeting of the Committee.
