The City of Greater Bendigo's Community Grants Program provides an opportunity for not-for-profit groups or a registered business to develop projects that complement areas identified as priorities (including environmental sustainability) in the Greater Bendigo Council Plan (Mir Wimbul) 2021-2025. Bushcare Incentive Program

The City of Greater Bendigo Bushcare Incentive Program is designed to acknowledge and reward the conservation efforts of private landholders and complements Landcare initiatives.

The Program is supported by Trust for Nature Victoria. To be eligible, property owners enter into a conservation covenant (voluntary agreement with the Trust for Nature). The covenant is registered on Title and binds all future owners of the land to manage the protected land in accordance with the conservation covenant.

On entering the program, a one-off upfront payment of $25 per hectare of land protected will be provided. A 100 per cent rate rebate on the protected land is provided annually thereafter.

The annual rate rebate is calculated on the site value of the area of protected land and is provided as a credit on the annual rate notice.
