Heathcote stormwater investigation for flood mitigation

McIvor Creek near Shakespere St 2017 Flood

The City of Greater Bendigo completed the stormwater investigation to mitigate flooding in the township of Heathcote.

The study focused on understanding the stormwater impacts to the town and mitigating the stormwater and associated local flooding risk from tributaries of McIvor Creek such as Caledonia Gully, Possum Gully, Long Gully, Golden Gully, Dead Horse Gully and Parsons Gully, causing regular stormwater damage.

The final report can be found on the side documents on this page.

The next step for the City is to seek funding to implement the recommendations from the study.  We are one step closer to reduce flood risk within the community of Heathcote.
