Native bird in tree

The City of Greater Bendigo manages many natural, outdoor spaces for the public to enjoy. These include parkland, bushland, lakes, creeks and some road reserves.

We work to maintain and improve Bendigo's native flora and fauna and enhance the conservation and habitat values of these valuable parcels of land. We manage indigenous vegetation and perform weed control. We improve biodiversity through sustainable and regenerative revegetation techniques such as installing frog ponds, removing feral animals, deep ripping compacted soils and conserving rare and threatened species.

Visitors enjoy great recreational experiences at these sites such as picnicking, bush walking, bird watching and bike riding. Find out more about experiencing our natural reserves

Get involved with your local community and 'friends' group and help us protect and manage these increasingly important natural spaces. Find out more about volunteer environmental groups
