Expressions of interest now open to join the new Creative Industries Advisory Committee!

Are you a local creative person who wants to help advise Council and drive implementation of the City’s creative industries strategy?

The City of Greater Bendigo is forming a Creative Industries Advisory Committee to provide expert advice and guidance on creative industries and help drive implementation of Greater CREATIVE Bendigo’s vision and actions. We are currently seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from creative industries experts and community members who wish to be appointed to this Committee.

Greater CREATIVE Bendigo takes a broad and inclusive view of creativity and champions the importance of creative activities of all kinds for our social, cultural and economic wellbeing. The establishment of a Creative Industries Advisory Committee, combining various specialist skills from within the City with the expertise, knowledge and interest of technical experts and community-based participants, will provide the strategic directions to deliver the vision and actions of Greater CREATIVE Bendigo. The Committee will reflect the diversity of creative activity in our city and region, with a broad representation from across the creative industries.

EOIs will be collected until Friday October 25, 2019. Applicants will then be shortlisted for interview in November.

Before completing the EOI form, please read the Draft Terms of Reference.

Greater CREATIVE Bendigo strategy officially launched!

The newly published Greater CREATIVE Bendigo strategy – which features images of local creative people and their work – was officially launched by Mayor Margaret O’Rourke and Cr. Matt Emond on July 25, 2019, as part of a (chilly!) night of entertainment, networking and creative discovery at the Bendigo Tramways.

And watch this space for more news of the projects and initiatives we are rolling out as we work on implementing the actions outlined in Greater CREATIVE Bendigo.

Strategy adopted

At its meeting on Wednesday November 21, 2018 Greater Bendigo City Council adopted Greater CREATIVE Bendigo. Check back early in 2019 to download the final document.

Creative Conversations

The ‘Creative Conversations’ series was an important part of the City of Greater Bendigo’s community engagement during the preparation of Greater CREATIVE Bendigo. Great thinkers, artists, storytellers and locals who are really making their creative mark, were invited to share what they think will make Bendigo an even more creative city. Creative Conversations were free public events featuring a number of new and different speakers from across a number of creative industries. Read more about each session:
