School's back in at Longlea, radio club finds home
First opened in 1877, closed and reopened many times, but finally closed in the 1990's, Longlea School No. 1921 is open again – under new management
The school is now the headquarters of Bendigo Amateur Radio and Electronics Club, and the Club is settling in for a new year.
The Club room is open from 10 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays for both Club members and interested public. It is also open from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturdays for amateur radio training, and for anyone who may be interested in finding out more about the fascinating hobby of amateur radio.
Why not go along to the Longlea school, learn about electronics, and find out how you too can become a radio amateur.
Bendigo Amateur Radio and Electronics Club - open for business on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 20 Longlea Lane, Longlea. For more information, phone Kevin Crockett on 5439 7434, or go to www.barec.net.au and Facebook.
