Bendigo Botanic Gardens - Central Hub

Bendigo Botanic Gardens Central Hub Master Plan Graphic

The Central Hub is located within the Bendigo Botanic Gardens Precinct, between the Heritage Gardens and the newly established contemporary Gardens for the Future. The Central Hub involves several structural elements, including:

a             Visitor Centre building

b             Central Plaza

c             Wetland/Ponds

The Central Hub buildings and landscaping will form the heart of the Bendigo Botanic Gardens Precinct by punctuating the Gardens’ entrance, forming a central meeting place and providing principal visitor information and amenities. It will present a unique and dramatic visitor experience which encourages people to connect and interact with the landscape and waterscape.

Current status

The architects, GHD Woodhead Architecture, have been working with the City, Friends of Bendigo Botanic Gardens group and the Dja Dja Wurrung to develop a unique vision for the precinct which is now available to view utilising the link in the side-bar on the right until May 31, 2020.

Any questions or feedback can be emailed to [email protected]

The construction of the new precinct is currently unfunded, however, the City will be seeking funding from both the Victorian and Australian Governments to undertake this building project which we hope to have completed by June 2024.
