Community Halls

There are a number of different community buildings available around Greater Bendigo for public and community group hire, with halls and meeting rooms in a range of shapes and sizes, providing multifunctional spaces in heritage to modern facilities. They are used for both regular and occasional meetings of community organisations as well as private events.

Each facility is managed by volunteer committees of management. These committees oversee the day-to-day operations of the buildings, and seek to maintain them as fit for purpose on the City's behalf.

Though many of the hirers of these buildings have their own public liability insurances, the City can provide public liability insurance at no cost of up to $20,000,000 for hirers who do not have their own cover. Details of this cover may be provided by a committee of management.

The Heathcote Senior Citizens and Scout Hall is a traditional brick facade building, located along High St in Heathcote.

Heathcote Senior Citizens and Guides Hall

The Heathcote Senior Citizens and Guides Hall is a distinctive red brick building located in central Heathcote, and is available for community hire.

Huntly Memorial Hall

The Huntly Memorial Hall, located on the main street of Huntly, has a unique memorial garden and is available for public use.

Kamarooka Public Hall

Located in the heart of Kamarooka farmland, this unique public hall provides a functional space for community events and activities.

The Lockwood South Hall, on the corner of Crusoe Road and the Calder Alternate Highway.

Lockwood South and District Community Hall

Lockwood South and District Community Hall. A modern hall that is well equipped and maintained with a high quality Ballroom Dance standard polished floor.

Long Gully Community Centre

The Long Gully Community Centre is pleasantly situated in a quiet off-road location in Long Gully, 3.5 km from the Bendigo CBD. The Centre has two large halls and a large meeting room, suitable for a wide range of events and activities.

Long Gully Community Pavilion

Long Gully Community Pavilion is situated in an attractive location overlooking the local recreation reserve, and is suitable for a variety or community group activities or private functions.

Longlea Lane Old School Building

A priceless time capsule, in good condition situated in Longlea.

Maiden Gully Community Centre

Nestled in pleasant bushland garden surrounds, the Maiden Gully Community Centre is a small hall available for small community meetings and group activities.

Maiden Gully Public Hall

A large, mud brick hall located near the Maiden Gully post office, available for hire for community activities and private events.

Marong Community Hall

The Marong Community Hall is a large hall and meeting space available for community use.

Resources for Committees of Management

Council can provide public liability insurance at no cost of up to $20,000,000 for hirers of Council owned or controlled buildings and or land. Exclusions and limitations apply, please read the form carefully before submitting.
