Bendigo Skate Park redevelopment

Bendigo Skate Park is a district standard facility located on McIvor Road.

Council has committed to the detailed design of a replacement skate park. The McIvor Road facility is in poor condition and does not meet modern expectations of skate park users.

Stage 1: Community consultation – Location of skate park

The location of a skate park is a major factor in the long-term success of a skate park. The current McIvor Road location does not address the key criteria identified in industry research and best practice.

The City has reviewed a number of possible alternative sites in and around the CBD for the new skate park and has identified Ewing Park as a suitable alternative location.

This site has been identified because it is in a highly visible area that provides good passive surveillance, is close to main roads and public transport and other amenities including walking and cycling paths, shops, car parking, public amenities and recreation spaces.

Your feedback about locating the Bendigo Skate Park at Ewing Park or McIvor Road is important and the City would like to invite you to submit any comments you may have:

You can have your say by:

  • Completing the feedback form directly below
  • Attending a listening post at Ewing Park Pavilion on April 16, 2018 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm
  • Calling the City of Greater Bendigo on (03) 5434 6000
  • Email [email protected]

Submissions must be received by the City by 5pm on April 20, 2018.

Next steps:

Once all feedback has been received and considered, the location will be finalised and a designated designer will be appointed. The design process will consider the community feedback and incorporate it into the design where possible.

The redesign of the Bendigo Skate Park is part of an integrated approach that includes the design of new local standard skate parks at Epsom and Kangaroo Flat.

Funding for the construction of these facilities is subject to budget approval, and is likely to be staged over several years.
