Kangaroo Flat Skate Park Design Project
In response to a community submission last year, the City of Greater Bendigo has agreed to fund a detailed design for an exciting new local skate park at Kangaroo Flat.
Stage 1: Community consultation – Location of skate park
Location is a major factor in the long-term success of a skate park.
The City has reviewed a number of possible sites in Kangaroo Flat for the new skate park and has identified Cooks Reserve, at the corner of High Street and Browning Street as a suitable location.
This site has been identified because it is in a highly visible area that provides good passive surveillance, is close to main roads and public transport and other amenities including walking and cycling paths, shops, car parking, public amenities and recreation spaces.
Your feedback about locating the skatepark at Cooks Reserve is important and the City would like to invite you to submit any comments you may have:
You can have your say by:
- Completing the feedback form below
- Attending a Listening Post at Cooks Reserve on April 17, 2018 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm
- Calling the City of Greater Bendigo on (03) 5434 6000
- Email [email protected]
Submissions must be received by the City by 5pm on April 20.
Once all feedback has been received and considered, the location will be finalised and a designated designer will be appointed. The design process will consider the community feedback and incorporate it into the design where possible.
The design of the Kangaroo Flat Skate Park is part of an integrated approach that includes the design of new skate parks at Epsom and Bendigo.
Funding for the construction of these facilities is subject to budget approval, and is likely to be staged over several years.
